Writer's block, an owner's guide: Seven strategies
It’s a long time since we had a look at one of these lists, so here are 7 strategies from Christopher Knight that can “help you achieve the zone of flow when it comes to writing your best works.” They’re a little different, and I liked the thought of writing “when you’re beyond tired.” We’ve all done it. It’s good to have permission.

Hmmm. Good article, but I’d like to see more on #5. That’s the thing – I have no ritual, no mantra, no trigger that reliably gets me into “the zone.” Oh, yes – it’s a place I know well, when I’m there. (Sort of like a trance state, or self-hypnosis. Similar to the “otherworldly” state I’m in when reading – I go blind, deaf, and dumb to reality, and I am IN the book.) Now, HOW do I reliably get there? #5 in this article makes it sound like a simple matter, but I think that’s only because the author hasn’t a clue, either. Help!

P.S. Maybe getting in the zone isn’t the problem, in fact – but rather STAYING there.
